Middle School Artists Shine at JrVASE Competition

Cooper Students Earn Top Honors and Recognition
Middle School students from The John Cooper School recently demonstrated outstanding talent and creativity at the Junior Visual Art Scholastic Event (JrVASE), with impressive results that reflect both their dedication and artistic growth.

Among 13 participating schools, Cooper students represented 9 percent of all entries, submitting a total of 48 works. Of those entries, an exceptional 92 percent earned high scores and were awarded medals. Notably, one student achieved the prestigious distinction of a Platinum medal, the highest honor awarded at the event.
Beyond the accolades, students described the experience as both rewarding and inspiring, gaining valuable insight and confidence in their artistic practice.

The Middle School Visual Arts Department celebrates the commitment, creativity, and perseverance these students brought to their work. Their achievements are a testament to the strength of the program and the passion these young artists bring to their craft.

“We are incredibly proud of the dedication and creativity our students demonstrated through their work. Their willingness to take risks and express their ideas so thoughtfully is what makes experiences like JrVASE so meaningful” says Emily Taylor, Middle School Visual Arts Department Coordinator.
