Ways to Give

List of 7 items.

  • Gifts of Cash

Gifts of cash usually take the form of cash, money orders, or checks made payable to The John Cooper School. Please mail your contribution to:

    The John Cooper School
    Advancement Office
    One John Cooper Drive
    The Woodlands, TX 77381
  • Pledges

A pledge enables a donor to consider larger commitments and fulfill them with payments spread over a period of time. Reminders will be sent about your commitment. All pledges for Annual Fund must be paid in full by the end of the school's fiscal year - June 30. Pledges for a capital campaign may be extended over a period of a number of years.
  • Gifts of Securities

While there are several ways to transfer appreciated securities to the school, we have found the most efficient method is a direct transfer, via DTC, from your brokerage account to that of the school. Most firms require written authorization to facilitate such a transfer. Please contact Christen Wilson, Chief Advancement Officer, at 281-367-0900 ext. 2327 or via email at for additional information that you will need to complete the transaction.
  • Corporate Matching Gifts

Since many companies offer matching gift programs, we encourage you to check for matching gifts and see if your employer has a program which will match your donation made to The John Cooper School. A corporate match may allow you to double – or even triple – the impact of your gift and the donor is recognized for the entire amount! A matching gift may be requested for a donation made to the Annual Fund, as well as donations made to capital campaigns.
  • Memorial & Tribute Gifts

Making a gift in memory or in honor of a family member, mentor, colleague, or friend is a thoughtful way to remember someone special. Gifts made through any of the methods described above can be designated in honor or memory of a loved one or in celebration of a milestone event, such as a birthday, anniversary, or graduation.
  • Planned Giving

This opportunity allows individuals to ensure the financial well-being of The John Cooper School by making gifts that provide a maximum benefit for the school, while decreasing the income tax, estate, and gift tax burdens upon their estates and descendants. Philanthropic giving can merge your personal financial needs and tax planning.

  • Bequests

Bequests often enable donors to give more than would have been possible during their lifetimes. Bequests may be kept private, and they can be changed during the donor's lifetime. Bequests are relatively easy to establish, often with just a simple addition to a will or revocable trust, and bequests are tax-wise: gifts through bequests qualify for certain estate tax deductions.
