Students Capture the Spirit of Signatures

Yearbook Students Attend 2025 Signatures Author Series
The Signatures Author Series is an annual literary and arts event hosted by The John Cooper School. Each year, the program welcomes a featured author to The Woodlands for a day of conversation, creativity, and engagement. The event also includes opportunities for students to explore the writing process directly with the featured author through an exclusive press conference. This year’s featured guest was Fiona Davis, a bestselling author known for her historical fiction novels, and yearbook journalism students were invited to cover the event for their upcoming publication.

The yearbook journalism team spent the occasion immersed in creativity and school pride as they documented each part of the Signatures experience. Equipped with cameras, notebooks, and a shared passion for storytelling, they captured the energy of the presentations, the artistry on display, and the personal stories behind the work. The students were inspired by the fascinating stories shared by Fiona Davis and shared the following synopses:

Anna Sims - Class of 2028
"I really enjoyed the opportunity to go see the author, Fiona Davis, and hear all about the books she has written and get insight into why she wrote the books and what inspired her. She was so kind and genuine so I was so grateful to go because of yearbook. It was also so much fun getting to be with other girls from yearbook and getting to hang out all day while also hearing about the new books together and even getting to pick one of Fiona Davis books for her to sign at the end of the day."

Raya Al-Aghbar '28
"I am immensely grateful for all of the opportunities the paragon yearbook class has provided me with, including the Signatures event hosted by the John Cooper School. During this event, I had the opportunity to engage with the highlighted author, Fiona Davis. I attended and participated in a press conference, in which I got to ask her questions about her preferred writing genre, historical fiction. This experience was truly educational in the sense that I learned about journalism and writing fiction novels. I appreciate the remarkable experience I was given, and I hope to attend the John Cooper Schools Signatures events in the years to come."

The yearbook team returned from Signatures inspired to bring the event to life through their coverage, continuing their work of documenting the school year through meaningful storytelling.
