Strength & Conditioning Camp

List of 3 items.

  • General Information

Cooper Strength & Conditioning Summer Camp is a 6-week sports performance-based program that targets athletic development for rising 6th – 12th graders. Each of our 1.5 hours sessions focuses on the core speed, agility, and strength training for better on-field, on-court performance and injury prevention.

CORE FUNDEMENTALS: STRENGTH & POWER | SPEED & AGILITY

    STRENGTH & POWER DEVELOPMENT
Every athlete has different needs, our staff will guide each athlete through age-appropriate resistance training that emphasizes proper technique, posture, core strength, and functional movement that apply directly to on-field, on-court performance. Each athlete will receive a packet to track their progress through the 6 weeks and will get daily feedback on their performance.

    SPEED & AGILITY DEVELOPMENT
Need Speed / Quickness? Lateral speed, straight-line speed, change of direction, and footwork are essential to improving athletic performance. Our coaches will help develop the tools and techniques your athletes need to get the edge in their sport.  Each week all our athletes will be tested, and their progress tracked to motivate and adjust to their performance needs.

    EDUCATING THE COMPLETE ATHELTE!
To be able to perform at a peak level, the body and the mind need to work in harmony. During the 6-week program all athletes will have the opportunity to learn about sports nutrition, developing better recovery habits, and working on individual and team goal achievement. Developing these active strategies will help their focus and confidence when performing on the big stage.

    Supplement Used:
Campers are asked to actively use the TEAMBUILDR app to best track progress. Athletes can register with the Easy Join Code: PSZI-RTIJ and Password: HG5WYC7W.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If I’m already signed up for training in my sport, should I still do strength and conditioning?
Yes. Cooper's Strength and Conditioning program trains the total body. We focus on the 5 fundamentals (strength, power, speed, reaction, injury prevention). This program is designed to complement your team's in-season and off-season training, while building new fundamental movement patterns and maximizing muscular performance.

Can I do this and still do the other Cooper Sports Camps?
Yes, starting June 5, camp is from 7:30-9am

    Will this burn me out?
No, we are going to make this fun and different. Our goal is to keep your body strong and resilient through a variety of exercises to prevent injury and burn-out.

I’m already planning to participate in a sports camp/training program this summer. Do I need to do this too?
If your summer plans already include a strength and conditioning plan, please come talk with me. I’m happy to evaluate your current plan and offer more details about Cooper’s strength and conditioning camp.

If camp is good, is it even better for me to do my own thing with a private trainer instead?
It might be, but this program was developed in cooperation with all of Cooper’s coaching staff. We know what you’ve been doing all year, and we want to make this a fun and mix things up to maximize your improvements while building on our existing team systems.
