#ALLTOGETHERNOW Campaign In 'High Octane' Drive

Hear From Math Department Chair Kim Larance About the First 10 Weeks

ALL TOGETHER NOW!
Let’s take a closer look inside the Cooper experience from the perspective of Upper School Mathematics Department Chair Kim Larance.

First of all, I would like to borrow the line “It takes a village” from the traditional African proverb and apply it to what I am able to accomplish in my AP Calculus BC class in the first ten weeks of school.  If it were not for my colleagues in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, who instill a love of mathematics in our students and lay down a firm foundation for me to build on, my work would be much more difficult, if not impossible.  Credit must also be given to the parents for their ongoing support and financial donations, and the administration for their guidance and vision, all of which enhances my teaching, particularly through access to professional development and state- of-the-art facilities.  For twenty years, my village has allowed me to cover the development, manipulations, and applications of differential and integral calculus in the first ten weeks of school.  And while the calculus has remained the same, the tools, from writable walls to document cameras and overhead projectors, have enhanced my teaching and make The John Cooper School a place where I come to learn, as well. Thank you so much for your gifts!

We are in week 4 of our 10-week Campaign so go online today and make your gift or pledge at www.johncooper.org/giving. The goal is to achieve $1 million and school-wide participation, #ALLTOGETHERNOW !!!
