Math Bowl, Robotics Students Compete in Local Competitions
SCI://Tech Expo and VEX Robotics Competitions
Congratulations to Cooper students who competed in recent math and science competitions. Middle School students competed at the Jr. High Science Fair and Upper School Math students competed in the Math Bowl at the SCI://Tech Expo on February 3 and 4. Teresa Lyons (geometry), Jonathan Spangler-Sakata and Brooke DeMarco (Algebra II), Nathaniel Wu and Obie Amudo (Calculus), Erin Frankland (Precalculus), and Ram Desabhotla and Sanjana Venkatesh (Statistics) answered questions as members of four-person teams made up local high school students. Wu finished as a member of the first place team, Spangler-Sakata finished on the second place team and Venkatesh finished as a member of the third place team.
Cooper Robotics students also competed on February 4, at the VEX Robotics Competition in Houston. "First time ever" was the theme for the day for our team, that for the first time entered three robots, qualified for every event with no technical complications and qualified for the final alliance challenge, placing eighth out of 31 teams.
