Three Dragon Football Players Nominated For Preseason Recognition

The John Cooper School Department of Athletics is proud to announce that three Dragon senior football players were nominated for The Touchdown Club of Houston’s Preseason All-Greater Houston Private High School Player of the Year awards.

Nominees from The John Cooper School were linebacker Cole Sheppard, offensive lineman David Sims and defensive lineman Jackson Todd.

“It was awesome to see our young men honored for all their hard work and dedication to our program,” Erik DeHaven, head football coach for The John Cooper School said. The Dragons completed the 2022 season earning their second consecutive Southwest Preparatory Conference 3-A championship.

Forty-eight nominees representing 18 area private schools were selected from all Houston area private school players and winners will be announced on December 6 at the Private High School Awards Dinner at the Omni-Galleria in Houston.
