Congratulations Alison Mitton '26!
We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of Cooper’s brightest young artists, Alison Mitton '26, who has just been named the winner of the 3rd Annual Student Recognition Art Competition, hosted by the Fine Arts Council. This exciting achievement is just the latest in a growing list of accolades recognizing Alison’s incredible talent and dedication to the visual arts.

Alison’s artistic journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Her passion for drawing and painting has led her to create a remarkable portfolio that blends creativity, emotion, and technical skill. Among her recent honors:
  • Winner, 1st Annual Student Recognition Art Competition (2022–2023)
  • 2nd Place, Message in a Bottle – Climate Champions Art Competition (2023–2024)
  • Silver Key, Scholastic Art Awards for Bon Appétit, also published in Celebrating Art (2024–2025)
  • Juror's Selection, Cubist Outcast – Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts (2025)
We’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Alison’s mother, Sara, who shared several stunning samples of Alison’s work. A key part of Alison’s success has been the support she’s received from the visual arts team at Cooper. She credits Ms. Arnold, her primary art teacher, with nurturing her growth and helping her develop confidence in her creative voice.

Please join us in congratulating Alison on her well-earned recognition. We can’t wait to see what this talented young artist does next.
