Camp Cooper

Camp Cooper is designed to spark the imagination and engage the intellect while offering an equally important dose of fun and physical activity. The hallmarks of Camp Cooper include hands-on and collaborative educational activities, a wide variety of games and play, and small camp groups led by fun and caring counselors.

Camp Cooper Activities

Cooper Connections: Teacher-led academic units reflecting their interests and passions

Counselor Guided Free-Choice Activity: Students may choose from among many activities led by our college-age counselors reflecting their personal interests and passions.

A.M. Alternative Sessions: Half-day morning alternative sessions offered on a wide varity of topics such as academics, STEM, arts, and sports activities. Students join camp peers at the lunch period and enjoy the reminder of the Camp Cooper day. Full day of fun-Friday activities.

Price: $230 (Week 1) or $285 (Week 2,3,4,5) plus any A.M. Alternative Sessions and/or Before/After-Camp Care

  • 2nd Grade Academy · Week 2

    Fee $50  ·  Rising 2nd Grade
    Children will spend their camp mornings getting to know themselves as readers in Readers’ Workshop, build on their general knowledge during Math Workshop, and explore how to better express themselves through the written word in Writing Composition.

    Children will spend their camp mornings getting to know themselves as readers in Readers’ Workshop, learn new and review previously introduced math facts in fun and engaging ways during Math Challenge, and develop their own writing projects during Principles of Writing.

  • American Robotics: Bots 'n' Blades · Week 4

    Fee $60  ·  Rising 3rd-5th Grades
    Asphalt to airborne...new generations rule Lego robots and control quad-copters in the class where your aerial adventures begin. Guard and govern the ground in robot battle and reach unimaginable heights while driving drones. This is where you discover the thrill of fight and flight!
  • American Robotics: Reverse Engineering · Week 3

    Fee $60  ·  Rising 1st-5th Grades
    Because life doesn’t always come with an instruction book, neither will your robots. Do you really need instructions to recreate, duplicate, or make a working model better? What is the big picture? How do all these pieces make it happen? Teams must draw from their deeper understanding of how Legos work together to make a complete, enhanced robot. Build to recreate the robots shown…aim to upgrade and improve designs!
  • American Robotics: Treads & Peds · Week 5

    Fee $60  ·  Rising 1st-5th Grades
    What are Treads? What are Peds? They are all tanks! They are all walkers! Some are all-encompassing Master Hub Manas! Let us operate without boundaries as we use treads and links to build multiple tanks with two different technologies, two different types of treads, and two different styles of instructions. Join us as we use gears and pulleys to build and battle a world of walking robots: including climbing robots, crabs, bugs, and robot dogs with animated eyes, mouth, and tails! Rethink technology, old and new!
  • Art Immersion: Masks, Media, & More · Week 5

    Fee $50  ·  Rising 3rd-5th Grades
    Throughout history, masks have been crafted by different cultures for a variety of reasons. In this camp we will explore the cultural significance of mask making, and we will put our own creative skills to the test. Using a variety of media – clay, paper, found objects, and more – each camper will create his/her own mask, each telling its own unique tale.
  • Art Immersion: Your World Through Art · Week 4

    Fee $50  ·  Rising K-2nd Grades
    For ages, artists have allowed us a glimpse into their world through their art. This course will encourage our budding artists to do the same – explore and express the world around them. Using a variety of media, our artists will explore multiple themes – trees, leaves, animals, fruits and vegetables, and so much more. Join us for a fun-filled week of exploration and expression.
  • Junior Tennis K-2nd · Week 2

    Fee $50  ·  Rising Kindergarten-2nd Grades
    This class teaches the fundamental skills of tennis. Players will learn techniques necessary for stroke production with a strong emphasis on hand-eye coordination, fitness, and skill development. Fun games and drills are used to introduce the game of tennis. Students may bring their own rackets with their names on them. All participants should wear hats, sunscreen, and non-marking rubber-soled shoes.

  • Minecraft Camp with Active Learning · Week 4

    Fee $70  ·  Rising 2nd-5th Grades
    Minecraft is hugely popular with children because it is collaborative, open-ended, and moddable. Active Learning’s Minecraft Camp encourages creativity, storytelling, programming, and problem solving. Whether adding a room, building a moat, or even creating a chessboard, the creative possibilities for each camper are endless. Join us for a week of fun and creativity!
  • USA Chess: Beginner to Advanced · Week 5

    Fee $70  ·  Rising K-5th Grades
    USA Chess is the largest premier chess camp organizer for children in the United States. The staff is comprised of the finest instructors in North America. Campers experience chess instruction and play in a fun-filled environment designed to improve their skills, whether they are interested in casual or competitive chess. Each camp fee includes a trophy, chess set, and much more.
