2018-19 Boys' Varsity Soccer Preview

Comments from Head Coach Bryan Sherman

“The biggest challenge will be working to improve each and every day. We have a talented roster but need to make sure we don’t get complacent, thinking talent will win us games. We must trust one another and work consistently to challenge each team member to get better every practice and game.” –Coach Bryan Sherman

Athletes To Watch

Jacob Gunter (senior) Jacob will be playing his third year of varsity soccer with Cooper. As goalkeeper, Jacob does an outstanding job of organizing the team and leading by example. He has played virtually every minute of every game since joining the varsity team, and this will be his first year as team captain.

Eli Araya (senior) is in his second year on the varsity team at Cooper. Last season, Eli was a constant threat going forward, and he uses his pace and skill with the ball to create opportunities for teammates. This season, Eli is moving to a defensive role but will still be asked to help create goals from that position.
