CINDERELLA Receives Three Tommy Tune Nominations

Awards Recognize Excellence in High School Musical Theater

The Upper School’s November 2015 production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella has received three nominations from the Tommy Tune Awards, a Houston-based awards program that recognizes excellence in high school musical theater. Cooper’s production of the classic fairy tale has been nominated in the categories of Best Stage Crew/Technical Execution and Best Choreography. Additionally, sophomore Mallory Bechtel has been nominated as Best Featured Performer for her role as the Fairy Godmother.

The formal Tommy Tune Awards Ceremony will be held at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston on April 19. Cooper's next Upper School drama production will be "Almost Maine" in the Black Box Theater of the school’s Glenn Performing Arts Center, April 15-17, to be held in conjunction with the annual Fine Arts Festival on April 16 that is a celebration of student visual and performing arts.
