The Woodlands Township has proclaimed April as Arts Month in The Woodlands. The timing is perfect, since the JCS Fine Arts Council, in partnership with Cooper’s Visual and Performing Arts departments, is hosting Cooper’s Fine Arts Festival on campus throughout the month as well.
This newly expanded celebration will showcase the talents of Cooper students, from our youngest pre-kindergartners to advanced level artists all month.
Art exhibits will be on display during school hours in The Glenn Performing Arts Center, The Rock Math + Science Center and Mitchell Lower School. Each week will feature evening performances by theater, band, choir, strings and dance students. Spend an afternoon in the Art Barn for fun (and sometimes messy) hands-on activities, see our aerial arts team perform or enjoy a guided afternoon tour of Cooper’s sculptures.
There will opportunities throughout the month to observe a selection of fine arts classes to see arts education in action. Check the schedule for details.
But wait, that’s not all!
Experience an evening adult class taught by our visual and performing arts faculty. Try a musical theater dance or fused glass class or join a drum circle!
