Tech Users to Tech Creators with AI

Partnership with Inspirit AI brings cutting-edge tech education to campus
In the beginning of June, The John Cooper School transformed into a center for innovation as it welcomed instructors from Stanford, Harvard, and MIT for an immersive artificial intelligence program in partnership with Inspirit AI.

Designed for rising middle and upper school students, the two-week camp introduced participants to Python programming, machine learning, generative AI, and real-world applications across fields like healthcare, art, and space science. Students explored not only the technical side of AI, but also ethical questions, bias in algorithms, and the social impact of emerging technologies.

“This was a chance for our students to move beyond the role of tech users and into the role of tech creators,” said Middle School teacher Lindsay West, who coordinated the program. “They collaborated, applied new tools, and imagined bold, socially impactful solutions.”

Led by graduate students from Stanford, MIT, and Harvard, the program offered personalized mentorship and hands-on experience that sparked curiosity and confidence. Students came away with a deeper understanding of AI—and of their own potential to shape the future.

“This was more than just a camp,” said student Beatriz Kamps ’26. “We’re learning how AI thinks and works—and it’s amazing.”
