Five Cooper Athletes Named Scholar-Athlete Finalists

Congratulations to our five Dragon honorees!

Five senior athletes from The John Cooper School were named finalists for the Mike Ogg All Montgomery County Scholar Athlete Awards presented by the five Rotary Clubs of Montgomery County.

Honored finalists and their sport include Obie Amudo, girls’ track & field; Preston Burnett, football; Mary Dunlap, girls’ soccer; Sreya Nalluri, girls’ softball; and Eric Grosser, boys’ track & field.

"I am extremely proud of this excellent group of seniors the Rotary Club selected as finalists this year. All of them are exceptional scholar athletes and are tremendous representatives of The John Cooper School,” said John Hoye, athletic director for The John Cooper School.

This is the 13th annual Mike Ogg All-Montgomery County Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, sponsored by the by the five Rotary Clubs of Montgomery County–Conroe, East Montgomery County, Lake Conroe, Magnolia and The Woodlands. The athletes are nominated by their coaches, and are selected on athletic ability, academic achievement, school accolades, community involvement and work experience. Finalists will be honored at an awards banquet at The Lone Star Convention Center on May 16.
