Varsity Boys’ Soccer
1/2 vs. Cooper Alumni • 3-4 LOSS
Alumni goals by Iker Pimienta (3) and Alex Valderamma.
Varsity Soccer goals by Mikey Elkhoury, Wesley DeMarco, Marc BIlliot
From Coach Bryan Sherman: For the first time in a few years, the alumni team was able to beat the current Cooper team in a 4-3 thriller. The alums came out playing great, going up 2-0 by halftime, but the current group of guys stormed back and took a 3-2 lead, only to relinquish it back to the old guys with two late goals, and the victory. Both teams had a lot of fun and it was great to welcome back the past players. Iker Pimienta, class of 2014, had three goals for the alums, more than he ever had as a player at Cooper. Why he waited so long to have that kind of performance, I will never know.
1/6 vs. Episcopal High School* • 2-0 LOSS
From Coach Bryan Sherman: The team gave a great effort against last year's SPC champions. We made a few mistakes that a good team took advantage of, but know we can play some better soccer in the games ahead.

Varsity Girls’ Soccer
1/2 vs Magnolia High School • 1-2 LOSS
From Coach Amber Clevenger: We played against a talented Magnolia High School and lost 2-1. Mary Dunlap scored our goal. This game allowed us to "knock the dust off our cleats" after two weeks off and it helped us identify areas we needed to work on prior to SPC play.
1/6 vs. Episcopal High School* • 2-0 WIN
From Coach Amber Clevenger: Girls soccer defeated EHS 2-0 in their first SPC game of the season. The team has been working hard all week to prepare for EHS and SPC play and all that hard work paid off. I'm so proud of the way the team played. Melissa Martin stepped up in a huge way for us defensively, Gina Valderrama and Kate Burns sealed the deal with a goal each. This win was a team effort and very much deserved. It's my hope that we can take this momentum into next week's conference game against St. John's.
