Dr. Joohee Moonat had a passion for life. Her keen intellect, academic achievements, and professional success in surgery were often overshadowed by her boundless energy and enthusiasm for the day’s great adventure. Family and friends will never forget her boisterous laugh and infectious smile. All who knew Joohee remember her kind and gentle nature. She embodied the principles and virtues reserved for the very warmest of souls. Dr. Moonat possessed an all too rare combination of brilliance in her thinking, a deep concern for humanity, and a spirit which embraced with enthusiasm the beauty and fun of life.
We are both challenged and obligated to carry on her work and wittiness. May she be emulated as much as she is missed. Your contributions will ensure Dr. Moonat’s legacy will live on through the academic pursuits of tomorrow’s great scholars.
Beginning in 2014, the school will award an annual $1,000 scholarship to a student in the Cooper senior class. Scholarships will be given to those students who excel in academics and plan to study the biological sciences in college.
