Quiz Bowl Team Competes at National Competition

Team Members Compete Well, Explore Orlando Wildlife

Cooper's Quiz Bowl Team had adventures in and out of the National Quiz Bowl Tournament that was held in Orlando, Florida June 15-17. Team members included Ben Braun, Preston Loper, Andrew Mahler and Rishi Wahi (team captain) and they were accompanied by their faculty sponsor Shannon Hill and Cooper's Assistant Director of Technology Scott Ardill.

The team got off to a great start, winning the first three games (355-140, 275-155 and 250-195), tying a record for the highest-scoring 60-second round ever in game 2. After a successful run in the preliminary rounds, during which they won four of their six matches, the team was knocked out in Game 7, which was a sudden death playoff game.

Team members and chaperones then explored the great outdoors in an airboat ride. In addition to seeing (and holding) a baby alligator, they saw purple gallinules, a freshwater pelican, blue herons, a small herd of deer, and a swamp bunny. Way to go, DRAGONS!
