VARSITY BOYS' BASKETBALL

1/23 vs. Salt & Light • 68-35 WIN

1/26 vs St. Andrew's* • 63-64 LOSS

1/27 vs St. Stephen's* • 75-52 WIN

From Coach Rod Gold: St. Stephen's was the first SPC counter win in a little over three years. I have tremendous pride in our seniors who have been through that whole stretch. They wanted to make the playoffs so badly this year and they made it happen. After Friday night's absolutely crushing defeat, losing in the last second of the game, the guys showed tremendous resilience in coming back with a great mindset and took care of business against St. Stephen's, thus punching their ticket to the playoffs. The Cooper community can be very proud of this group of guys.

1/26 vs. St. Andrew's • 4-1 WIN
Goals by Vinit Reddy (2), Eli Araya, Evan Burchfiel

1/26 vs. St. Stephen's • 1-1 TIE

From Coach Bryan Sherman: It was unfortunate we didn't come away with two wins this weekend, but we played very well and they are really starting to show their ability as a team. Friday night against St. Andrews was the best we have played this year, and we just did not have the same energy on Saturday.

February 2 at Houston Christian*, 7 p.m.

VARSITY GIRLS' SOCCER

1/26 vs. St. Andrew's* • 0-0 TIE
From Coach Amber Clevenger: This was such a hard fought game - no matter what we did we just couldn't finish, the only goal of the game was called back due to a "foul".
Patty Chow was for sure the player of the game she made two crucial saves and she also saved a penalty kick! But we ended in a 0-0 tie.

1/26 vs. St. Stephen's* • 4-1 LOSS
From Coach Amber Clevenger: We actually played much better than Friday's game and the score really doesn't depict how well we really played. We lost 4-1 with a nice set piece goal by Mary Bannon.
Next up is our Senior night on Tuesday vs. HCYA and we asked that everyone come out and really celebrate these great seniors with us.
