VARSITY BOYS’ BASKETBALL

1/9 vs. Faction Basketball Academy • 93-65 WIN

1/12 vs. Episcopal High School* • 50-79 LOSS

From Coach Rod Gold:
We came out with an excess amount of energy and committed too many turnovers and got too far behind a good team. Once we settled down, we played a good brand of basketball. We are looking forward to our upcoming games.

January 19 at St. John’s*, 7 p.m.

Goals by Ebube Oguchi (2), Tega Ewherido (2), Vinit Reddy (2), Eli Araya, Jacob Gunter, Thomas Elkhoury

1/12 at Episcopal High School* • 0-4 LOSS (Episcopal is the defending SPC champ)
From Coach Bryan Sherman: The boys played a great game on Tuesday night, but then had a very tough match against the defending SPC champs on Friday. I am pleased with the effort and intensity the boys continue to show each match, but we realize we have a long way to go if we want to compete with the best in the conference. We will keep working to improve each day and hopefully we can get another match against EHS with a better result.

Next up for Dragon Boys’ Soccer:
January 19 at St. John’s*, 7 p.m.

VARSITY GIRLS’ SOCCER

1/9 vs. Northland Christian • 5-0 WIN

1/12 at Episcopal High School* • 1-1 TIE
From Coach Amber Clevenger: The Dragons had tough battle with Episcopal and we ended up in a 1-1 tie with an assist by Mary Dunlap to Kate Burns for the equalizer. Episcopal is always tough and this was a well-fought game by both teams.
