2017-18 Varsity Swimming Preview

Comments from Head Coach Steve Breeding

Athletes To Watch

Boys Sophomore Christopher Seymour began the season, at the first competition, breaking the school record he set last year as a freshman in the 100 Fly. And he did it twice–in the prelims and the finals. He lowered his time by two seconds. Accomplishing this so early in the season lets one know he has been training effectively and I will not be surprised if the record board will need to be updated several times this season. Chris has a positive, infectious attitude and smile and exhibits a natural leadership that a coach would like to see in every competitor.

Girls I am most optimistic and look forward to not just one specific girl, but a group of freshman girls. These girls are making the most of minimum practice times. They pay attention, ask questions and put forth an effort that is producing an improvement on an almost daily basis. They struggle without complaining and always attempt to do what is asked of them. They possess a willingness to learn and put forth an effort that creates constant improvements. They are Anna Broussard, Maci Flanagan, Ariel Fu, Rebecca Juranek and Nancy Lee.
