National Merit Names 12 Cooper Seniors Semifinalist/Commended Students
Recognized From Among Nation's Academically Talented Students
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has recognized twelve students from The John Cooper School Class of 2018. Carina Masuelli is among 16,000 National Merit Semifinalists named from academically talented high school seniors from around the country and will continue in the competition for approximately 7,500 National Merit Scholarships, worth approximately $32 million, that will be offered next spring.
Seniors Obielumani Amudo, Jackson Banks, Nicole Beck, Preston Burnett, Jarod Cordes, Sarvani Desabhotla, Kyle Dunn, Kara O’Neal, Vinit Reddy, Payton Russell and Kathryn Tang were sent a Letter of Commendation and named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students are recognized for their exceptional academic promise based on results of taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
