From Coach Steve Breeding: Both boys’ and girls’ teams gathered 13 top three finishes (boys & girls), and six first place finishes. Even though we did not win and the boys missed third place by one point, it was probably the most exciting and fun year to watch the SPC Championships. Swimmers swam very fast. In the boys 100 Fly, Chris Seymour and Vidyal Pradeepkumar both broke the school records, placing 1st and 3rd.
Crucial important swims: Jackson Banks in 200 IM, cutting off almost 12 seconds in the 200 IM and the Boys 400 Free Relay (Mitchell Shannon, Paul Gallup, Jackson Banks, Vidyal Pradeepkumar) dropping their time by six seconds.

Varsity Boys’ Soccer • finished 7th place in SPC

SPC Championship Play

Opening Round: vs. St. Mark’s • 3-0 WIN
Goals by Wes DeMarco and Vinit Reddy (2)

Championship Quarterfinals: vs. Episcopal • 1-2 LOSS
No goal scorer for us. They had an own goal.

Final game: vs. Fort Worth Country Day • 2-4 LOSS
Game was 0-0 and lost 4-2 in penalty kicks

From Coach Bryan Sherman: I am very proud of how our team competed the last few games of the season. The 2-1 loss to EHS was a great game and they boys really showed their heart throughout the weekend, as EHS is the back-to-back SPC champs and we gave them their toughest game of the tournament. Overall, it was a good season for the team. I hope seniors have some good memories of their time playing at Cooper and I know the younger guys are going to keep working hard to improve on our results from this past season.

Varsity Girls’ Soccer • finished 5th place in SPC

SPC Championship Play

Opening Round: vs. Casady • 1-0 WIN

From Coach Amber Clevenger: This was a well-fought game by both teams and thanks to a goal by Kate Burns from an assist by Isabel Sands, we came out on top. Brittany LaVergne was the biggest part of our success in this game as she played a crucial role to our win, Brittany made some incredible saves and showed true leadership.

Championship Quarterfinals: vs. Episcopal of Dallas • 0-4 LOSS

From Coach Amber Clevenger: ESD is an exceptionally talented team with multiple athletic threats. I was proud how the girls played their hardest till the very end. It's tough to compete against a team that has won the SPC Championship for the last four years and ended up winning again this year, but I was proud of our effort!

Final game: vs. Episcopal • 3-0 WIN

From Coach Amber Clevenger: Going into this game I wasn't sure how much we had left in our tanks, but it was very apparent that our girls wanted to go out with a win for our seniors! Gina Valderrama started us off with a brilliant header goal off of Melissa Martin’s corner kick. Then Bella Camarata added another goal off another corner from Melissa. Isabel Sands finished it off with a great goal off an assist by Andrea Ordman! The team played so well and all of our seniors were able to contribute to this win. We ended the season with all our seniors on the field!
Playing so many games in such a short time is never easy and I am proud of the way the girls played to a fifth place finish!
