Two students win exemplary Platinum awards
The John Cooper School students represented the school well at the Jr. VASE awards this year.

Junior VASE is a TAEA (Texas Art Education Association) Visual Arts event recognizing exemplary middle school student artwork. The program was created in 1999, with VASE standing for Visual Art Scholastic Event.

Daniela Villarreal (8th) and Aidan Kolassa (6th) both received platinum medals.

“Platinum medals (the best of the best) are selected from the works that received medals (highest rating): one per category (sculpture/drawing/painting/photography/etc.) per grade level,” explains art teacher Ms. Emily Taylor.

Seventeen students received their medals, a certificate, and the comments from the judges,

We are so, so proud of these students,” says Ms. Taylor.
