For Grades 8-12 Parents & Students
Active Minds, with whom Cooper formed a partnership three years ago, is a Washington, D.C. based non-profit corporation that specializes in educational programs in the area of adolescent mental health and wellness.  The organization is considered the leading voice nationwide on the topic of adolescent and young adult mental health awareness and advocacy, resulting in the formation of over 400 Active Minds chapters on college campuses and the sharing of informative, research-based knowledge to thousands of high school students and their parents.

Colleen Coffey will be our Active Minds speaker this year on Wednesday, January 30. Ms. Coffey will share her own journey with mental health disorders, what she has learned about mental health disorders, and her belief that “everyone holds the power to transform communities.” Ms. Coffey will be speaking to students in the day, and presenting to parents at 7 p.m. on January 30 in the Glenn Performing Arts Center. If you have any questions about the program, please contact me, Ms. Crane, Dr. Estrada or Ms. Donahoo.
