KHOU-TV: Great Day Houston Segment

Dr. Popp and Dr. Estrada are featured in this segment discussing wellness at JCS!
On the morning of March 27th, Great Day Houston aired a segment on KHOU-TV regarding The John Cooper School and its mission to implement emotional skills and support throughout its community of students, faculty, and staff.

Deborah Duncan visited The John Cooper School to learn about the School’s mission to provide an individualized approach to a challenging education in a caring environment. The School was highlighted for its continuous efforts in building a foundation of emotional regulation and well-being for not just our students, but our faculty and staff as well. Dr. Stephen Popp and Dr. Diego Estrada also joined Deborah to speak on the importance of caring for the whole child here at The John Cooper School.

Lucas Frome (Class of '26), Scarlett Durisek (Class of '25), and Felicity Sebastian (Class of '24) received the opportunity to share how the wellness initiatives on campus have prepared them for college and a life of learning. The RULER method and the Mood Meter were mentioned as just some examples of the ways The John Cooper School is implementing this foundation of emotional regulation and care for the whole child.
