Coach Rod Gold: I am extremely proud of all our boys. They improved steadily throughout the season and displayed excellence and consistency during the SPC championships. They maintained focus and battled right down to the end. We are extremely excited and eager to begin the process for a successful season next year.

Coach Jill DelRio: The girls tennis team had a fabulous finish with a second place overall in Girls 4A Tennis. They had to fight against the Greenhill School and the Hockaday School to get to the championships. They fought hard against Kinkaid, a very strong team, and we fell short. I am super happy with the way the girls played. This is the second time in John Cooper history that we have earned second place in SPC.

Coach Jill DelRio: The boys started with a seed coming into SPC, but it immediately showed what a good team they were up against in St. Johns. They rallied back to come in fifth place overall. I couldn’t be happier with the way teams played this week.
VARSITY BASEBALL
4/30 vs. Tomball Kings • 7-5 L
Coach Domonique Lewis: Seniors Jackson Todd and Neil Mallik both had one hit and scored one run each. Mallik had one RBI. Junior Carmine Johnson had two hits and freshman Blake Lopez had the best night of his career, pitching four innings with three strike-outs, and one earned run.
5/2-4 at 4-A Baseball SPC Championships*, Dallas
Opening game vs. Houston Christian • 4-3 L
Coach Domonique Lewis: It was a hard-fought game by the Dragons and they played a great game. Neil Mallik got things going in the first inning with a double-scoring run followed by a double from Lucas Triplett scoring Mallik. Carmine Johnson drove in a run and Luke Horak added to the offense with a double. Nick Hagle pitched five innings, allowing two ER, five Ks, and two BB.
VARSITY SOFTBALL
5/2-4 at 3-A Softball SPC Championships*, Dallas
semifinal game vs. The Oakridge School • 7-2 W
• Cameron Patterson struck out 16 batters and only allowed one hit
• Patterson collected two hits for the Dragons
• Daniela Villarreal collected three hits in her four at-bats
• Villarreal hit a home run to right field in the first inning, singled in the second, and doubled in the fourth
• Bailey Jackson and Riley Herring had one hit each
• Harker Wood with one RBI
• Leah Ruckman led the team with three walks and one hit
• The team amassed nine walks, eight hits, five RBIs, and six stolen bases

Coach Nicole Hedden: We are so proud of this team for their outstanding achievement as the runner-up in the 3A SPC Championships. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to each other are truly commendable. Despite facing moments of defeat during the season, their resilience shines through as they continue to push forward and fully embrace the process. Their dedication and perseverance undoubtedly contributed to their remarkable success in reaching the championship game. Their determination is truly inspiring. This season, we strived not for perfection but for progress, aiming to be just one percent better every day, and in my eyes, they went above and beyond our expectations. Congratulations girls!

Coach Jeremy Eddington: What an unbelievable season these boys have had. They came to practice every day, ready to work, and it showed as they are the SPC Runner up. We put up a lot of new records this year and capped it off with two more to end the season!
