THE JOHN COOPER SCHOOL FINE ARTS COUNCIL OVERVIEW
“Supporting and Promoting a Vigorous Fine Arts Program and Community at The John Cooper School”
The Fine Arts Council would like to welcome you to the 2010-2011 school year! Thanks to the active parent participation and involvement at Cooper, the Fine Arts Council is able to support and promote the visual and performing arts programs on campus. The activities listed below will give you a better understanding of the kinds of things we support and accomplish each year. It’s not often that an organization can welcome a bestselling author to the community, support students who have earned awards in art, band, choir, drama, and dance, and help support hunger relief and literacy organizations … all in one year! We look forward to more excitement, fresh ideas and new friendships this year and we invite you to join us by becoming a Friend of the Fine Arts!

SIGNATURES AUTHOR SERIES
Nicholas Sparks is the featured author of The John Cooper School's 6th Annual Signatures Author Series to be held on Friday, November 12 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. One of America's bestselling authors, Sparks is widely regarded as a master of gripping and believable stories. Nicholas Sparks in person displays the traits that have made his books so beloved: a unique voice, great storytelling and an ability to connect with large audiences through the power of words! We expect attendance of 800 to 1000 guests from the Greater Houston area. This event also features book signings and sales from local authors. Table sponsorships are available at the $5,000, $3,000 and $1,500 levels; individual seats are $100. Proceeds from this event support the continuation of the event, the JCS Fine Arts program and a community literacy program. Tickets are for sale online by CLICKING HERE or by calling the Development office at 281.367.0900 x441.
