The John Cooper School offers health services to our students in offices staffed by two full-time registered nurses. The primary role of the School Nurse is to provide temporary care for an ill student, to evaluate and/or treat minor injuries, to administer medications and to educate students and staff in health-related matters. In addition, the nursing staff is responsible for ensuring compliance with state mandates regarding student health and immunization records, as well as vision, hearing and scoliosis screenings.
The Lower School Nurse's Office is located near the Kiva and serves students from Pre-K through fifth grade. All questions regarding these grades should be directed to extension 2310 or 2333. The Middle/Upper School Nurse's Office is located near the Middle School Office and serves students in grades six through twelve. All questions regarding these grades should be directed to extension 2446. Important policies related to health services can be found in the Student-Parent Handbook, found in the “Helpful Downloads” section of the school website. |
