Many Firsts For Class of 2016 Commencement

Re-Scheduled to Saturday, May 28 and Live-streamed for First Time

John Cooper School Commencement was re-scheduled for the first time from a Friday ceremony and was held for the Class of 2016 on Saturday, May 28, due to major inclement weather in the area.  Senior Lindsay Roth gave the invocation, Tristan Craig gave the valedictory address, Chase Warren spoke on behalf of his classmates as class speaker and Sal Recio presented a class gift to the school that included funds for a new sculpture on campus and a donation to the American Red Cross to assist flood relief efforts. Head of School Michael Maher and Head of Upper School Stephen Popp led the issuance of diplomas, assisted by members of The John Cooper School Board of Trustees. The school’s symphonic orchestra and choir were joined by faculty and alumni to provide music for the ceremony. As is a Cooper tradition, following Commencement, faculty, administrators and trustees formed a welcome line to congratulate graduates of the 105-member John Cooper School Class of 2016. The entire ceremony was live-streamed for the first time and can be viewed by clicking below:
